Beschreibung
Reflection and refraction seismic surveys will be performed to characterize the subsurface in the vicinity of two projected ICDP fluid monitoring sites in the swarmquake area near Novy Kostel (CR). Two 3D reflection seismic surveys with ~1 km penetration depth will provide high-resolution images to optimize the exact drill locations at Hartousov in the Cheb Basin, and near Dolni Castkov in the crystalline bedrock of the Western Krusné hory foothills. They will be complemented by far-offset shots to improve the 3D imaging of steep faults at the target depth of ~500 m. Three additional fixedspread reflection-and-refraction profiles will connect those surveys and embed the high-resolution
3D images of the two drill sites in a larger model of the area. The 2D refraction data will also provide detailed information on the seismic velocities at the target depth that is required for pre-stack migration of the 3D data. Modern seismic imaging and inversion tools (Fresnel-Volume Migration, Full Waveform Inversion) will be applied to analyze the data. The different surveys and methods will provide multi-scale/multi-parameter images of the projected drill sites and the uppermost crust in the NW Bohemia swarmquake area.
